Privacy Policy

This website collects a limited amount of anonymous, first-party analytics data to help me understand which work resonates with visitors. No third-party advertising trackers are used, no cross-site cookies are set, and IP addresses are anonymised before being stored. See the full policy for details.

How analytics works on this site

This website uses a first-party analytics system that runs entirely on this server — no data is shared with Google Analytics or any other third party.

  • No tracking cookies are required. Visits are correlated using a rotating, one-way hash of your IP address and browser, which changes every day and cannot be used to identify you or reconstruct your IP address.
  • IP addresses are anonymised (the last part is removed) before anything is stored.
  • If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, no analytics data is recorded for your visit.
  • Country-level location is estimated from your network's country, never precise geolocation.
  • Analytics data is automatically deleted after a configured retention period.
  • Known bots, crawlers and uptime monitors are excluded where reasonably possible.

The contact form stores the message you submit (name, email, subject, message) so it can be answered and is not used for any other purpose.

Newsletter

If you sign up for the newsletter, your email address (and first name, if you provide one) is sent directly to Mailchimp, the third-party service used to send these emails, and stored there for as long as you stay subscribed. It's used only to send you the newsletter — never sold or shared for any other purpose. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask to have your details removed at any time. See Mailchimp's own privacy policy for how they handle your data.
